These are the same trees (Avebury, Wiltshire) as in my Three Great Trees photo, which was taken in Winter. This time instead of focusing on the roots I tried to look at the new summer (I'm late uploading
 ) foliage - replacing the bare branches of the previous shot. It's much darker with this new canopy and the roots now have grass sprouting amongst them.I think I prefer the Winter photo overall, but I like the seasonal change.  (There's actually four trees in this clump, the missing one is off-centre to the other three, perhaps I'll get a good shot of them all someday!  ) |
